Sad news
18-11-2010

We’re sad to tell you Posthuman has been going through kind of a rough time lately. First of all Jelle and his wife have decided to move to Amsterdam, because Jelle’s wife found a job there. This means Jelle will no longer be able to continue with Posthuman. We’d like to thank him for all the hard work for and dedication to the band in the past years. We wish the both of them all the best in Amsterdam and will of course still share drinks as often as possible!

In addition, Sander has decided the time has come for him to move on and leave Posthuman. We want to thank Sander as well for everything he has done for Posthuman these past years. Of course we wish him all the best as well and will still share drinks with him whenever possible! Our last show together will be ‘Insane in the Westereen’, November 19th. Sander has offered us to stand in with auditions and possible shows in the future, if the need arises. This means Posthuman will stay operational, for which we are very grateful.

All in all, we’ll be searching for both a bassplayer and a lead guitarplayer. If you are interested, or know of someone who might, please contact Michiel (michiel@posthuman.nl), so we can arrange an audition. In the mean time, Posthuman will finish new material we still have in stock for you and continue to write new songs.

Some more reviews
08-09-2010

With our debut album "Rise From Ruins" recently released, we've received a lot of positive reviews. A small selection:

"What do you get with Rise from Ruins? A strong riff-based [...] melodeath album with generally well placed, well performed synths that add instead of subtract. You get some of the best, rawest, most aggressive unclean vocals you’ve heard in ages. And of course an album that’s well written, has an original concept and is very well shaped and performed."

- Death Metal Baboon

"This album is awesome. It reminds me a lot of Swedish melodeath, but at the same time has a different flavor. It’s nice and original, a fast moving concept about the end of humanity, the destruction of the world at our own hands, and the rebuilding just to go back to our old ways.
I’m definitely liking what I hear, and if you’re into melodic death you’ll probably like these guys too."

- Funeral Rain

"Posthuman, rather uniquely have shifted Melodic Death Metal a notch and into full flight. Weaving military influences into their music results in the newly dubbed 'Military Metal'. So deep is the Dutch accent, so brutal is Posthuman, so much so history is to 'Rise From Ruins'."

- Wretched Spawn

"The band is serious in everything they do, including the lyrical themes, and to end with one of their own statements: "The future starts today"

- Power of Metal

More reinforcement
31-07-2010

As you know, Sander recently decided to quit his grunting tasks for Posthuman to focus more on his guitar playing and clean vocal parts. So we needed to find a new grunting vocalist who was up to the task of taking over Sander's part, so together we could lift Posthuman to another level. With pleasure we can announce that we have found our new man.

Our new grunting vocalist is Harm-Jan Broekema. (for some of you maybe also known as a member of Sincerus) Combining fearsome grunts with enthousiasm and great ideas for lyrics, he proved to be a very suitable addition to the band.

With the band complete in the way we like, we're preparing for our gigs after the summer.

First gig including Harm-Jan: September 25th: Freeze Festival, Leeuwarden. (notice that the lucky guy will perform twice that night. Sincerus is also booked!)

Rise From Ruins out now!
15-07-2010

It has taken a little longer than we expected, but our debut album 'Rise From Ruins' has finally arrived!

"Featuring a very complex sound, the band is out to make a name for themselves in the very crowded Melodic Death Metal scene. Combining the traditional Melodic Death Metal elements with some Electronic/’futuristic keyboards’ hints and even some Progressive Metal elements, Posthuman has a very unique sound that will surely turn heads of quite a few people."

"Posthuman partly walk the same path as In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Scar Symmetry and Soilwork, but they are more heavier and experimental within the melodic death metal formula. [...] Rise From Ruins is a great first effort from Posthuman. There’s plenty of variation and aggression, and just enough melody in a progressive way."

To celebrate this, we have put up another song for streaming on our myspace (http://www.myspace.com/posthumanmetal) and if you like them enough, you can download these four songs for free on our bandcamp (http://posthumanmetal.bandcamp.com/).

"Posthuman clearly know how to write a riff and added to the well crafted songs, fine vocals and catchy keyboard parts it makes for a winning combination. Bet they're awesome live too :)"
